The Many Uses of Hammocks and Cargo Nets

Double Stack Nets:

The double stack nets are ideal for larger areas and multiple occupants due to their strength and durability. These nets are made from two layers of 2” square netting, and then the perimeter is reinforced with a sewn edge and a 5/8” thick rope. The border rope serves to create a stronger connection point, so the stress is taken off the thinner 2” square netting. Typically, they are connected to wooden platforms using zinc coated or stainless steel quick links and screw eyes. These nets are frequently suspended over the water at resorts and lakes, as well as in a backyard oasis, or treehouse platform. They offer an amazing place to relax and take in the scenery!

Single Layer Nets and Hammocks:

Single layer hammock nets are suited for 1-2 occupants due to their construction. They are made from a single layer of 2” square netting, a sewn 3” border with stainless steel grommets spaced apart 6” to 12” and can have an optional debris liner incorporated into them. The debris liner is mounted below the main net and is great for over the water areas because it will catch small items like keys and cell phones that would otherwise fall through. Much like the double stack net, it is connected to structures using the same type of hardware. So grab a friend, sit back with some refreshments, and relax!

Spider Web Nets:

The spider web climbing nets are designed for playgrounds and amusement park play areas and even residential areas. An installed net will provide years of use with minimal maintenance. Basic hand tools will be required for installation of the net to eight support posts. Standard sizes are 12, 16 and 20 feet. Spider web nets are made with 2” square netting liners, hand woven and constructed using synthetic rope for a more rigid construction. Spider web nets are custom made to your color and material specifications. As part of a larger play system, a spider web net may be joined to other rope and netting structures such as cargo climbs, bridges and treehouse structures.

Other Net Uses:

Both the above nets are not purely meant for horizontal types of installations. Other uses include kid’s sports activities, barrier netting, cargo control, and even interior sleeping lofts. One common misconception is that the nets must be square. On the contrary, they can be made in any shape size or configuration. The nets can also be installed vertically to protect walls, ceilings, or off limit areas. They are great for outdoor recreation areas as a divider because they offer no climbing properties yet restrict the area in question while providing visibility. You can even make a tunnel to connect platforms and play areas. No matter what scenario you have, there is a netting product to do the job.
